Your Tasks

  1. Database Installation and Maintenance: Install and maintain the performance of database servers to ensure their optimal functioning.

  2. Database Design: Design and implement databases according to end users‘ information needs and views.

  3. Security Management: Develop processes and strategies for optimizing database security, including user authentication and authorization setup.

  4. Access Management: Manage database access and permissions, including user account creation and maintenance.

  5. Performance Tuning: Perform performance tuning of database systems to enhance their efficiency.

  6. Database Applications: Install, upgrade, and manage database applications to meet organizational requirements.

  7. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors and issues to ensure uninterrupted operation.

  8. Technology Adoption: Recommend and implement emerging database technologies to keep systems up-to-date.

  9. Reporting and Automation: Create and manage database reports, visualizations, dashboards, and automation for repetitive tasks.

  10. Policy Development: Write, review, and maintain data management and data security policies to ensure data integrity.

Database Administrator Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.

  • Experience: One to three years of experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related field.

  • Certifications: Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)/ Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Power Apps + Dynamics 365 Developer Associate, Salesforce Administrator certification preferred.

  • Database Technologies: Extensive experience with various database technologies (MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB).

  • Cloud Services: Experience with cloud services like AWS and Microsoft Azure is a plus.

  • Data Modeling: Proficiency in relational data modeling.

  • Database Setup: Experience in setting up and configuring databases (e.g., Salesforce, Dynamics 365).

  • Performance Monitoring: Knowledge of database performance monitoring and enhancement.

  • User and Role Management: Extensive understanding of user and group management and role management.

  • Backup and Recovery: Familiarity with backup types (full, differential, and incremental), recovery procedures, and performance monitoring standards.

  • Cloud Computing: Understanding of cloud computing models (SAAS, PAAS, IAAS).

  • Data Types: Deep understanding of data types (structured, semi-structured, and unstructured).

  • Problem-Solving: Critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Networking: Basic knowledge of computer networking.

  • Data Security: Strong adherence to data security principles, including encryption at rest and in transit.
